Staying on top of things.

This blog is created as a way to stay on top of the learning throughout the year and as a way to discuss various topics that will arise as you learn. I hope that you find this blog useful as a way of checking in on what you have missed while you were away and double-checking on the information that we will cover in the class.

An important note: It is YOUR responsibility to catch up on missed work and assignments through this blog. Therefore, I will expect that you will be prepared and ready for all activities and the work assigned will be completed on time. It is really important to stay on top of your work so we can be motivated, responsible members of the class.

Also, feel free to offer up your comments on lessons, activities, etc. as you like. It is important that you can comfortably offer up any feedback that will help create memorable learning experiences. Your voice is important.

G & A - Canadian Idenitiy today

The class had to go back and discuss the outcomes of the mind map that needed to be completed on Interactions between Natives and Europeans (found on Moodle) before talking about Canadian Idenitiy today.

We focused mainly on discussing Identity by first looking at one question. (please finish the other for homework)  Idenitity questions.
This continues with a bigger discussion on (comparing and contrasting) our definition of Canadian Identity to the views expressed in the reading and video posted on Moodle last day.

To complete for next class:
-term assessment sheet for the class
- written part of the timeline activity (look on Moodle for info on this activity)
finish the differences found in the article and your own views (boxes on compare/contrast chart0
- # 2 from Identity question page (see above)

  1. 1) nothing in the past of Canada has influenced me but, I know that the Canadian culture today has influenced me because of the fact that i cannot speak my native language anymore.

    2) what i found helpful with the Paseo circle is how i got instant information because of the fact that they could not stop talking. what was challenging for me about the Paseo circle is when it was my turn to talk because it was hard to think of the next word that i would say.
